“ Alpenrose is hands-down the cutest and best restaurant in Vail Village—a must-visit for anyone coming to town! From the charming alpine decor to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere, every detail feels straight out of a European fairytale. The food is absolutely outstanding. Every dish is crafted with care and bursting with authentic flavor—from the perfectly crisp schnitzel to the rich, melty cheese fondue, and of course, their unforgettable desserts. The Black Forest cake is pure heaven. What truly sets Alpenrose apart, though, is the incredible team behind it all. The chef is a true culinary artist, bringing authentic flavors to life with creativity and passion. You can taste the love in every bite. The entire staff is warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive, making you feel like a welcome guest in their home. Their hospitality adds so much heart to the whole experience. Alpenrose isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. If you're in Vail, this is the one place you simply have to visit. Charming, delicious, and unforgettable in every way. ”
“ We came for fondue, but when we saw how good the schnitzel looked and the plans changed. The restaurant is more casual than dressy and atmosphere is very cute. Truly feels like you are in Germany. The staff were also wonderful and friendly. And importantly - the beers are reasonably priced We got: - Schnitzel - large enough portion to split if you get an app or side. Was this the best schnitzel I’ve had? No but was it very good for outside of German? Yes. Came with spatzel, sauce, and lingonberries. - Sauerkraut - made in house and served warm. This I highly recommend with the Schnitzel. - Apple strudel - served with vanilla and cherry sauces. ”
“ This was a fun and yummy stop on my recent trip to Vail. Loved the staff alpine themed outfits. This place was very busy on a Thursday night! The schnitzel was the star of the show. Everything else was also yummy, especially the fondue appetizer. It was thin and crispy and paired with spetzel. We got a piece of strudel to go for dessert which was also delicious. ”
“ Had a wonderful meal at Alpenrose our first night in Vail. Views, food, and staff were great. Can’t go wrong with anything that we got. Beers were cold and food was hot. We got pretzel with obazda dip, Bergsteigersuppe, schnitzel, and zartes kalbsgulasch (veal goulash). It was a great hardy meal before our hike the next day ”
“ I love this place, I am not fun of pretzels but their pretzel were really good, warm, and fresh. I also like the sausage, I don't know the name of the sausage but it tastes really good. I enjoy my salmon as the main course, it was very feeling, and the wine added extra flavor :) ”
“ An interactive meal with such fun food pairings like fondue, pretzels and mustard, and fantastic cocktails. A great place for after the slopes to warm up or with larger groups. Highly recommend the winter curry, gluten-free, dairy free and vegan! The atmosphere transports you into another world! Every trip we come here! ”
“ Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere in the heart of Vail. The schnitzel was perfectly authentic and you will think you're somehow in the Austrian Alps in the states. We went there twice and reservations were prompt, an we did not have to wait more than 30 seconds each time. ”
“ We had a fantastic experience at Alpenrose in Vail! Our server, Samuel, was wonderful—attentive and friendly. We were thrilled to be able to have our dog with us on the patio, which was a huge plus. The food was absolutely delicious. They serve the lunch menu until 5 PM, which worked perfectly for us. The kids loved the giant pretzel, and the schnitzel with spatzle was as traditional as it gets. My personal favorite was the goulash—tender, flavorful, and perfectly done. The ambience was beautiful, with a fun and modern German vibe. I’ll definitely be bringing all my friends here—such a cool spot! ”
